Artist's Description

This parrot is unusual for the orange patch on its belly although its main coloring is bright green. The critically endangered Orange-bellied Parrot (Neophema chrysogaster) is native to southern Australia, breeding in Tasmania and then migrating to Victoria in the winter. It is only one of two parrot species which migrate.

About Margaret Saheed

Margaret Saheed

While photography has always been a passion, my painting adventure began after visiting a wildlife art exhibition in Melbourne, Australia. Exploring ways to create colorful contemporary images featuring animals, flowers and other elements of nature was a new venture for me. Now I am studying the exciting creation of digital paintings. Having graduated from Melbourne University with a BA(Hons) specialising in international relations, I am interested in portraying the world's exotic species. My aim is to capture their unique personalities and hope they will inspire you to learn more about wildlife and conservation. Images Copyright 2024 Margaret Saheed. All Rights Reserved.
