Baby Australian Wood Duck rests, protected by a caring mother. These goose-like dabbling ducks, also called Maned Duck or Maned Goose, prefer shallow water in grasslands, open woodlands and wetlands. Agricultural development has benefited this duck which may be seen in parks, farm dams and rice fields. Monogamous pairs nest in tree hollows above or near water.
About Margaret Saheed
While photography has always been a passion, my painting adventure began after visiting a wildlife art exhibition in Melbourne, Australia. Exploring ways to create colorful contemporary images featuring animals, flowers and other elements of nature was a new venture for me. Now I am studying the exciting creation of digital paintings. Having graduated from Melbourne University with a BA(Hons) specialising in international relations, I am interested in portraying the world's exotic species.
