Description
The critically endangered White-Cheeked Gibbon is a lesser ape, being smaller than the great apes such as the gorilla. Long arms, and hands that act like hooks, enable them to swing quickly and gracefully through the trees in the canopy of the tropical and monsoon forests in parts of Vietnam, Laos and China. This is a female, whereas the male is black with white cheeks.
