Description
The critically endangered Regent Honeyeater is now only found in southeastern Australia where it inhabits open eucalypt forest and woodland, particularly species of box and ironbark. It feeds on eucalypt nectar and also insects. A unique feature of this bird is its ability to mimic the calls of wattlebirds and friar birds if living in the same area, and it is possible that it may be related to the wattlebird.
